Weather Realism Overhaul

I noticed that the download count of the old versions were going up along with the new version. This might just be the delay of the site, but make sure to look carefully at the files part and do not download old versions without knowing, and most importantly, only use one file. (Of course you can download the older versions, but make sure you know which version it is before downloading.)

I will continue testing this mod and will update it regularly (probably daily) until I am completely happy with the way it functions. This means that there will possibly be an update every day or at most 3 or 4 days until this gets to v 1.1, which will be the first complete version. After that most updates will be fixes or occasional features.

Version 1.04: New Override List!, unlikely to cause any new conflicts however. Mysterious Weather should no longer show up on the forecast. Wind is now a part of every weather type and changes from hour to hour. This means that days that do not show up as windy might still trigger windy weather (windy days on forecast still exist obviously). Changed lightning settings so that it’s less likely to hit sims. Minor changes to how puddle generation works. Snow accumulates slower and requires a heavier snow than base game light snow to accumulate. Minor climate changes. Changed how the game classifies light and heavy r/s and storms. heavy and storm (thunder/blizzard) classifications are harder to reach now.

‘Chance of Thunderstorms’ weather is now also somewhat common in summer.

An overhaul for Sims 4’s weather system to add more variety and realism. Some of the changes here probably aren’t for everyone,so I might add more versions with some changes removed.

Changes:

Overall changes in seasonal climates by world:
Loosely based on Improved Weather Variety for Worlds by Peterskywalker but also a lot of changes to make the rain and snow amounts and temperatures work better with the rest of the mod.

Rain in winter:
In addition to snow, rain in winter is now much more common, and happens in all worlds. The rain in winter is usually light.

Showers:
Rain/snow/thunder showers last 1-2 hours and happen on partly cloudy, cloudy and rarely sunny days. This means that even if you see a cloudy day on the forecast, you can still get rain, and a winter that shows no snowy days does not mean a snowless winter. (Do not expect showers to appear on the weather forecast on the calendar, and note that showers of whatever kind will be visible as it’s typical base game version, for example a thundershower will be visible as a thunderstorm. Showers is just what I use to make it easier to explain.)

Types of Showers:
Rain Shower: Is likely to happen in spring and fall, usually on cloudy days.
Snow Shower: Is likely to happen in cloudy weather in winter.
Thundershower: Is likely to happen on partly cloudy and cloudy summer days.

Better Rain/Snow:
Also changed the way the base game rain/snow works to add more variety to rain severity and duration.
Chance of R/S now just means a cloudy day with showers, but with a higher likelyhood showers. So there is now a good possibility for a day with chance of R/S with no R/S.
Rain/Snow on forecast now means that there is going to be R/S fall for the entire day, usually heavy.
Base game Thunderstorms/Blizzards are now more severe and last for the entire day without interruption, but they’re also less frequent. The previous two changes are to further distinguish the showers from the steady rain/snow/thunderstorm.
Blizzards can also produce thundersnow now.
Chance of Thunderstorm is now more common in spring and fall and works like the other ‘chance of’ forecasts.
Sometimes on warm rainy days (with no thunderstorm on forecast) the rain can turn into a thunderstorm. This thunderstorm is milder and sometimes doesn’t even cause lightning strikes (there will of course still be thunder).
General Improvements to variety in rain and snow such as a very light rain(will still be called light rain). Occasional very heavy rains in non thunderstorm days, thunderstorm with light rain (will still show up as thunderstorm) and a more common thunderstorm with no rain (usually on hot/cloudy weather)
Certain forecasts that do show rain or snow may play out differently during the day (such as a day forecasting heavy snow may actually become a blizzard), this is intentional and is for more unpredictability.

Various Skybox/Cloudstate Changes:
Windy weather now has multiple skyboxes taken from cloudy and partly cloudy weather that change along with temperature.
Cloudy weather looks darker in certain situations. Heavy rain skybox is now also used in some cloudy skyboxes to bring some kind of fog to the game.
