The Sims 4 MOD: Phone Animation Replaced with Listening Animation

September 25 2017: I realized I missed some phone stuff. The stuff included in teen idle animations. If you’d like that gone too, use V2. That should be everything (with the exception of special cases, like grim reaper using a tablet), but let me know if you notice other phone animations I’ve missed.

This is a (relatively quick) thing I whipped up today, prompted by a discussion about phones in this game and how some people (like myself) don’t like how forced-on-everything they are.

It replaces the phone animations with the “listening” animation. The phone interaction names are still the same and so is the icon in the queue. This was just a quick way to get rid of the visual nuisance of it, if phones being foisted into every sim’s daily life is something that bothers you.

If a sim goes to play phone games, it’ll look more like they’re spacing out. If they make a phone call, it’ll look like they’re spacing out. If they go to Find a Job, it’ll look like they’re spacing out and doing nothing. So very true to real life.

This should apply to all uses of the phone and it’s all or nothing, no ifs, ands, or buttes (so no isolated hills with steep sides and a flat top).

Enjoy your weirder sims.

With V2, Teen_Idles Animation Element and Teen_Solo ASM are overrided as well.

These are Animation Element files, not XML files. Or rather, they are Animation Element XML files. Point is, they’re not the phone interaction files themselves. Mods that edit the phone interaction files shouldn’t conflict with this, unless they also edit the Animation Elements.

Wow! Who do I thank? Well, let me think, uh… what? I’m out of time? Ok.
