The diner became a popular attraction for locals and tourists until 2000 when it burnt down due to a chip pan fire (the new diner just isn’t the same). The previously empty unit next door was briefly used as a Youth Centre in early-to-mid 1989, but I have now added Summer Bay’s second-most popular hangout – the Surf Club! Since the two were never part of the same building in the show, screen accuracy for the Surf Club went out the window.
