Aussie soap fans of a certain age will recognise this hangout fomr Home and Away, which was originally run by Bobby Simpson and Ailsa Stewart. The diner became a popular attraction for locals and tourists until 2000 when it burnt down due to a chip pan fire (The Pier diner just isn’t the same!). Though it went through a refurb or two in later years, it’s featured here in all its original 80s glory. The empty unit next door was briefly used as a Youth Centre in early-to-mid 1989, though is now space to let.
