The Blackbird – I have a feathered visitor, a busy brazen bird;
Who strews my mulch around her . . and gobbles up my worms.
I’m tired of sweeping straw off paths; of straightening upturned cloches –
Of stringing twine and netting wire . . of cleaning up the splotches!
But oh! the joy that blackbird brings at rising sun and twilight . .
